Double Act wishes to recruit new Board Members

DOUBLE ACT is a disability theatre organization, based in Bournemouth. Their aims are to give disabled people in Dorset opportunities to achieve the highest possible standards in theatre performance and thus make a very positive contribution to the community. Members achieve independence and self-fulfillment by working regularly with experienced and reputable professional arts practitioners over an extensive period of time. Together they create original performances that celebrate our particular talents and strengths. Each year Double Act performs to audiences of at least 1500 people through schools tours and community performances.  Their productions are enjoyed by disabled and non-disabled people of all ages.

DOUBLE ACT has for the past 18 months been going through an organisational development stage which has been funded through Arts Council England and they are now a registered charity.

To complement our existing Board of five, we are seeking new Board members, including someone interested in taking the Treasurer role, to contribute to our future planning and development.

Potential candidates should have an empathy and understanding of the creative sector and knowledge of disability issues, be dynamic and motivated, and bring a strong commitment to support Double Act£s vision. We are actively seeking expertise in one or more of the following specific areas:

- Finance
- Fundraising
- Legal
- General Management

There are lots of exciting opportunities ahead, and Double Act needs people with a foresight and passion, who have time and commitment to build on its success to date and take the organization forward.
